    LEARN MORE!
  • GARDERIE ANTONIETTA

Garderie Antonietta is a fully accredited, bilingual, subsidized daycare located in the heart of Ville St Laurent, servicing children aged 18 months to 5 years old.

Founded in 1994 by sisters Antonietta and Teresa La Posta, the daycare is now run by Teresa La Posta and Emmanuel Triassi. Garderie Antonietta proudly provides education-based childcare services. Our teachers create monthly lesson plans that are age-appropriate and geared toward preparing your child for school.

Our daycare is family-owned and strives to instill an intimate and inclusive atmosphere from the top down. Our goal is to help your child transition from home to daycare to school as smoothly as possible, while providing them with the social, intellectual and physical tools necessary for their stage of life.

    Daily Lesson Plans

    Developing skills through play

Garderie Antonietta’s daily activities are geared toward helping your child develop all the skills necessary for toddlers and young school-age children.

Our daily program typically starts at 9:00am with “Circle Time,” which is meant to develop listening and conversational skills, focusing on plans for the day, upcoming events/holidays, days of the week, outdoor weather, etc. Additionally, our Pre-K classes are exposed to 3 extra hours of bilingual conversation and learning per week.

Following circle time, each class will divide their morning between outdoor play (weather permitting) and daily lesson plans. Our outdoor play yard is equipped with a small jungle-gym and slide, balls, and large cars, all of which help develop gross-motor skills such as running, climbing, throwing, catching and balancing. Daily lesson plans include:

    - educational skills (counting, number/alphabet/colour/shape recognition, vocabulary
    development)
    - fine-motor skills (writing, scissor-use, water table/play-dough/kinetic-sand play)
    - concentration skills (puzzles, memory games, story-telling)
    - creativity & imagination development (drawing, painting, colouring, singing, dancing,
      dress-up)

Important social skills (sharing, problem-resolution, emotion regulation), hygiene skills (hand-washing, toilet training), and basic life skills (eating and dressing independently) are a constantly encouraged throughout our daily programs.

    Extra-curricular Activities

    Going above and beyond

Once per week, children are invited to take part in an age-appropriate yoga class or “hip-hop” dance class (offered between September-June). These classes are the perfect opportunity for children to develop body-awareness through movement and guided exercise.

Throughout the year, children also have access to our on-site library room. The library is equipped with a variety of books in both French and English, as well as a computer programmed with educational games. Library time is used to foster an interest in books and quiet reading, as well as to develop early computer skills.

What some of our parents say

As a working mom and a doctor, I am very picky when it comes to choosing anything related to my three children. Garderie Antonietta has provided a clean, professional and fun learning environment and my kids are always excited to go back. My older two finished daycare with an excellent competence in both French and English as well as the skills necessary to transition into a French Elementary school and my youngest continues to consider this daycare as a second home.

    - Mireille A.

I feel completely comfortable and confident leaving my son in the care of Garderie Antonietta's competent staff. They are attentive, patient and caring!

    - Connie T.

My child loves going to daycare everyday...and I love knowing that he's well taken care of each and every day!

    - Sam B.

Garderie Antonietta has been a part of our lives for many years. The educators there have helped me raise three young boys. Everyone there is like family, I could not have done it without their support and kindness!
